Building your fleet

There are many ways to build up your fleet within Azur Lane. First and most notable is the actual Build function in the game. You use resources that you can obtain through the game and build for a chance at a certain ship. The image below shows the menu for building. At the bottom of the image are four tabs labeled Limited Build, Light, Heavy, and Special. Limited Build is only available during special events, and the Light, Heavy, and Special builds are always available. Different ships are available in different builds.

The second way to build up your fleet is to obtain ships as a drop from certain maps. The image below shows a victory screen and on the far left there is a ship that was obtained as a reward.

Another way to obtain ships is through the Exchange menu of the game. Players can obtain Medals of Honor from retiring duplicates of ships and use them to purchase other ships on a rotation. The image below shows the Exchange menu, with various ships for purchase on the left and the roation ship on the right.

One final way to obtain two specific ships is through the Player-vs-Player Munitions Exchange menu of the game. Players obtain Merit from defeating other players and can use the Merit to purchase two ships; the USS South Dakota and the USS Eldridge. The image below shows the Munitions Exchange menu.
