Personifying Warships

Azur Lane has over 300 warships from around the time of World War I and World War II personified as cute anime girls. The ship types within the game are as follows; Destroyers, Light and Heavy Cruisers, Battleships and Battlecruisers, Monitors, Light and regular Aircraft Carriers, Submarines, Repair Ships, and Aviation Battleships. With this many ships from many nations, each nation has their own unique designs to tell them apart.


Ships from the Eagle Union tend to have American-styled motifs, and sporting red, white, and blue in various forms. Some ships even incorporate the American Flag into their designs. Ships from the Royal Navy tend to have either a royal design to them, or designed around various maid styles. Some ships of the Royal Navy even appear to have animal characteristics.


Ships of the Sakura Empire are mostly based on animals or oni. Most ships have ears, tails, horns, and more to accentuate their features. Ships of the Ironblood tend to have a more militaristic look to them, often clad in black and red. Some of their equipment has traits of sharks with sharp pointed teeth most noticeable on the Cruisers.
